Jane Window – Canon Andrea Mwaka School (CAMS) Dodoma, Tanzania
Canon Andrea Mwaka School (CAMS) is an international Anglican school educating 200 students who come from many different religious and cultural backgrounds. Jane Window teaches English to secondary students and manages the school library. CAMMS School Year ends in June so May and June are busy months for Jane setting papers, marking and writing reports.
She is also involved with the English-speaking congregation of the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit. Jane says English services at the Cathedral have taken a new step up with the beginning of power point presentations on a regular basis due to the Bishop’s prompting (and the use if his projection screen)”. She was given money specifically for a data projector when she was home on leave. She sees what a difference it is making in flexibility of services and her heart is very full of thanks. Jane is involved in preparing special liturgies such as Christmas and Easter. She also plays an important role in the Cathedral Sunday School for the English speaking congregation.
In 2008 the Anglican Church in Tanzania entered a period of transition with the election of a new Archbishop who will be pursuing new directions.
Below are the Monthly Prayer Points from Jane:
CMS Summer School
Each year CMS conducts a Summer Conference (Summer School). Missionaries on Home leave and other interesting speakers attend and people at home are able to attend for the week or part thereof and partake of an interesting programme. The 2009 Summer School was held from Friday 4th January to Thursday 8th at Mt Tamborine.
CMS hosts its AGM and Annual gathering in September and this provides another opportunity to meet and greet missionaries new and old.
CMS also conducts appeals for funds and has a Sunday in June for a special focus on mission. Parishioners are able to make a regular commitment to support CMS by giving through the parish or directly to CMS.
