The Anglican Parish of Waterloo Bay is renowned for its warm welcome and friendly environment. We hope that new people will soon discover new friends and will begin to get to know a good number of people. To help you do this we encourage you to come along to one of our family groups. These are loose gatherings of people small enough that in time you can get to know every one there. They meet at different place and times depending on the group.
Regardless of your church background, we hope you will feel at ease participating in our worship. Worship is different in each congregation expressing something of the unique spirituality of the people.
We hope that all new people will soon feel they belong. We invite all who come to hop in and participate in the life of this wonderful community. We encouraged people to join a home group, and/or a family group. We have something for most age groups. You might like to volunteer for one of the rewarding ministries in the life of the parish community. We understand that from time to time people need a sabbatical “a bit of a breather”. So feel free to join us for worship and enjoy the blessing of community life.
If you are seeking additional information, would just like a chat or receive a visit from someone in the parish, you are encouraged to contact us.
Alternatively, have a browse around the website and see the variety of activities and worship styles that are offered.
For a bit of a taste of what happens within the parish, the weekly pew sheet The Tidings and the quarterly newsletter The Voice should provide you with a little insight to the parish.
Within the parish there are several clergy, each with their special gifts. Pastoral care is one of the strengths within the parish and beyond into the community.
A number of children’s and youth groups exist and sailing and kayaking is available as activities on a monthly basis.
There are numerous avenues of spiritual development available
Our Friendship service is held once a month for those unable to attend the regular weekly worship. These are followed by a delightful morning tea. Feel free to join us even if you can come on Sunday morning.
There is a close relationship with the local Catholic and Uniting churches where combined Alpha courses are held and Carols by the Bay at the Wellington Point reserve has been a joint service to the community for several years.
May God bless you!
Nicholas.
